Taiwan Design Week is centered around the core objectives of "Expanding Horizons, Breaking Boundaries, and Building Platforms." It focuses on sustainability and smart technology, creating a platform for creative design exchange between Taiwan and the world through Theme Exhibitions, Design Forum, and Design Nights.

Following the global pandemic, the philosophy of coexistence and diversity reached new heights . In response to the exponential growth of the digital era, a global evolution occurred with collaborations taking place in masses across borders, industries, and traditional systems. Resilient, receptive, and efficient by nature, Taiwan - an island along the Southeast Asian tectonics sensitive to geopolitical tension, anchored the global electronic industry by continuously taking on multi-dimensional, undefined collision and became the epitome of modern co-existence.

Parted by the ocean, Taiwan’s ability to isolate and cultural identity microevolved. Its ever-changing landscape and special strategic positioning allowed Taiwan to experience numerous “cultural baptisms”. As a result, the people of Taiwan are highly adjusted to sharing resources, cultural integration, and being bombarded by external information. It is these distinctive features embedded into Taiwan’s DNA that further puts into practice ‘Elastic Bridging’ that is exclusive to Taiwanese culture.

How do we use Elastic Bridging; both the flexibility and strength in structure, as well as its impact on history, is the core question that the Taiwanese design field strives to answer. The continuous changes in ‘Elastic Bridging’ is an approach to face the traits of modern uncertainty. Its where the tensegrity of globalization and localization needs to be adjusted. At the same time cross-country, cross-border, cross-specimen everchanging modern, a reminder of its open nature.
