flo flow flower Riso Print Series by Ho Wan Chun
flo flow flower is an ongoing personal project created outside my professional practice. Plants are both something I care for and something that quietly cares for me, naturally becoming a recurring source of inspiration.
The process of making these works resembles a meditative state—moving between focus and free association, allowing images to emerge intuitively. An ongoing series of Riso-printed mini posters, released sporadically.

Thoughts on Weaving
The captivating color combinations, cut-line details, and irregular white speckles created by the Risograph printing process leave a strong impression upon first encountering the flo series of posters.
Using white felt as the base and interweaving elastic threads to create a multicolored jacquard pattern, the blanket takes on a soft, tactile quality. The intersecting black cut lines across the surface create a subtle recessed effect, allowing white fibers to emerge through the colored areas. This echoes the soft, velvety texture of the matte Risograph prints.
Through the interplay of weave structures and material qualities, the project creates a captivating passage between the two-dimensional poster and the three-dimensional woven blanket, revealing the unique depth, texture, and craftsmanship of textile making.
Development Notes
This series of posters was born from my love of nature. While developing the exhibition, I discussed the project with Pon Ding, and together we decided to collaborate with 8bit. They were incredibly supportive throughout the process and gave us complete freedom to develop the work in our own way. During our discussions, 8bit suggested expanding the series into a new form, which we were very excited to explore.
I have always enjoyed arranging and shaping spaces into environments that feel personal and comfortable. I wanted to create a blanket that could accompany everyday moments—something to wrap around myself while taking a nap on the sofa, or to keep warm with on a cold night while camping. Rather than an artwork meant simply to be displayed, I wanted it to be something that could live with me. From the early material tests, we therefore looked for something thick, soft, and comfortable against the skin. We were very happy with the final result.
