Taitung Expo Main Pavilion : The Living School
What does a school without walls teach? How do we learn in a classroom without boundaries?
The Taitung Expo Main Pavilion reimagines learning as an experience rather than a lesson. Taitung cannot be understood through textbooks or fixed knowledge—it has to be explored through movement, observation, and participation. Living School invites visitors to learn by doing, transforming the exhibition into a series of "practice pages." Instead of presenting answers, it encourages making, questioning, revising, and discovering, where learning remains open-ended and continuously in progress.
The visual identity takes the form of a page from a practice notebook. Hand-drawn illustrations, unfinished sketches, corrections, and overlapping marks become visual evidence of learning in motion, where mistakes are embraced as part of the process. Playful stickers inspired by Taitung's distinctive sense of humor are embedded throughout the system, creating moments of interaction and surprise. By turning observation into drawing, and drawing into understanding, the identity reflects a way of learning that is lived rather than taught.
Exhibition Guide: The Practice Notebook
The exhibition guide takes the form of a practice notebook rather than a conventional catalogue. Beyond providing exhibition information, it invites visitors into a series of learning exercises—writing, sketching, questioning, responding, and reflecting. Instead of serving as a static object to be read, the guide becomes an extension of the exhibition itself: a space where learning continues through participation.
